It’s an easy upgrade to move over to Portel’s VoIP (Voice over the Internet Protocol) phone systems both in the office and at home, you will not lose any phone numbers just the bills for renting phone lines as everything now travels via the Broadband service, either your existing one or a new, Portel provided service.

ISDN or Integrated Services, Digital Networking to give its full name is what you may have as ‘lines’ to your traditional telephone system.

Typically delivered as ISDN2e (2 lines) or ISDN30e (up to 30 lines). Typically used by Avaya or Panasonics KXT-D phone systems

PSTN or Public Switched Telephone Network, Analogue lines such as you would use for a small non-digital phone system such as Panasonics KX-T range or a home phone line

Messy 19″ Rack 0, Portel Installation team 1

  First job of the day, thought it was supposed to be a ‘smart’ 19″ rack we were working on….hahaha. Managed to install the VoIP phones despite the mess, thing is there’s no point in mentioning anything as no-one has a clue / cares less about the appearance of the wiring, its hard being a perfectionist….sigh !
